TF Sport move onto Spa in GT Open

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Fresh from their conquering performance in Italy last weekend at the opening round of the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup Series, TF Sport will have meandered their way back towards home in readiness for the second round of the International GT Open series at Spa Francorchamps this weekend.

Having suffered a disastrous opening round to the series down in Estoril just under four weeks ago when their race weekend was abruptly cut short by extensive  damage to the front of their V12 Vantage GT3 after a small error by Salih Yoluc in qualifying for the first race, last weekend's victory will surely go along way in banishing any demons that either he or the team may have and a strong performance in Belgium will be probable.

With co driver Euan Hankey having praised his gentleman counterpart in the way he handled the traffic and race pressure during his race opening stint at Imola the fast following circuit of Spa should again play into the characteristics of both the car and drivers but driver/car line ups like Francessco Castellacci and Thomas Flohr in the new Ferrari 488 (who didn't have quite a good a GT3 LMC event but were clearly the quickest on track) should never be discounted. Brits Phil Keen and Shaun Balfe currently head the leader board in their Ferrari 458.

Although the official entry list for the Spa event has yet to be posted no surprising additions or omissions to the grid are expected.

The two race event format starts with a seventy minute Race 1 starting at 15:35 local on Saturday 21st followed with the sixty minute Race 2 starting at 14:35 on Sunday 22nd May.
