Aston Martin Racing's turn on the centre stage at Le Mans

Monday, June 13, 2016

Today was Aston Martin Racing's turn to take centre stage with its four V8 Vantage GTE's at La Place de la Republique in Le Mans town itself for the customer and extremely popular Le Pesage (The Show) or for the formal car scrutineering and team/car publicity interviews and photographs.

Just before 2pm local, the team firstly presented both of its Am Class entries - the #98 of Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda and the #99 Beechdean liveried entry of Andrew Howard, Liam Griffin and Gary Hirsch.

They were then followed in turn by the #95 Young Driver "Dane Train" Pro car of Nicki Thiim, Marco Sorensen and Darren Turner, and the #97 Pro car of Fernando Rees, Richie Stanaway and Jonny Adam.

With the preliminary formalities of the 24Hours of Le Mans now concluded tomorrow shall see the first of the week's public pit walks before the first of the track action with the first and only Free Practice session that will run between 16.00-20.00Hrs local.

Thursday afternoon will see the first of the support races practice and qualifying sessions before the first LM24 Qualifying session that starts at 19.00hrs with the latter night qualifying session starting at 22.00Hrs.

Maybe then we shall see what many in the GTE field have 'up their sleeves' but one thing is for sure - the GTE Am and GTE Pro classes will bring us one heck of a race.

Its time to go racing ladies and gentlemen - lets keep it safe and may the best cars win……….!!
