Chadwick on the podium at VLN after double driving duty

Saturday, October 08, 2016

Jamie Chadwick's latest excursion to the Eifel Mountains for what was the ninth round of the VLN series yesterday netted her and her co drivers Ahmad Al Harthy and Peter Cate with a third position in the SP8 class Aston Martin Vantage GT8.

With both Chadwick and Al Harthy moving up from the SP10 (GT4) class since qualifying for their A licence earlier in the year both were joined by the Aston Martin Test Centre driver Peter Cate for their first experience of the Aston Martin Vantage GT8.

Having qualified the car in 75th position, it was the turn of Jamie Chadwick to take the start of the four race on what was becoming a drier track having qualified on a much wetter surface in the morning. After just over an hour Chadwick had secured third position in class as she pitted to hand over to Peter Cate, a position that he and Al Harthy would maintain until the end.

What was special about todays event in the Nexcel liveried GT8 was that this was the first time the car ran (with its quick oil change cartridge facility) on re-refined oil.

What was also astonishing to see was that after her stint in the #133 Vantage GT8 Chadwick then went on to co-drive the #150 Vantage N24 Aston Martin Test Centre entry with Detlef Wormstall after he was left on the entry as sole driver! That car finished P6 in class - two laps behind the #133 Nexcel GT8.

Great job guys!
