De La Torre back in the race seat for PWC finale

Friday, October 07, 2016

Its great to see young Mexican Jorge De La Torre back in a race seat again for the finale of the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge series at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend following his massive accident at Lime Rock back in May.

Recouperating from multiple fractures and other injuries he sustained at Lime Rock De La Torre has been confirmed as driver for his team's own #4 Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage GT3 entry for the PWC finale in the GTA class. He will not however compete in the finale Sprint X event with the two available seats in that event being filled by Lars Viljoen and Caesar Bacarella in the teams #24 Vantage GT3.

Whilst De La Torre has shown massive personal determination to recuperate and recover from his own injuries which is great news in itself, our thoughts remain with Bentley Team Absolute's driver Andrew Palmer who sustained life threatening injuries in the same accident at Lime Rock and who's long term prognosis remains less clear.
