T minus 4 days for ACO reveal

Monday, January 30, 2017

If you didn't already realise, Thursday 2nd February 2017 is set as the 'big reveal' for entries being accepted into the 2017 World Endurance Championship, the European Le Mans Series and for the 85th running of the Le Mans 24 itself.

As you will see above, the event is scheduled to start at 15.00hrs GMT and will be live and fully interactive for race fans across the world to view and ask questions via the series' social media accounts using the hashtag #endurance2017

We already know that GT3 Le Mans Cup Team Championship winners, TF Sport have been initiated to compete in the LM24 in the GTE Am class whilst Beechdean AMR have also received a similar invitation by virtue of winning last years ELMS GTE championship.

We do know from social media traffic that Beechdean AMR shall be returning with their GTE into (at least) the ELMS series with only a small driver change. There is no word as yet of any TF Sport entry into either the ELMS or Le Mans Cup as they would have to do to comply with their LM24 invitation.

As far as the WEC is concerned, we can assume that #95 Young Driver AMR shall return to defend their Team and Driver Championships alongside at least one other GTE Pro entry and GTE Am entry. Two big question here is (a) drivers - who with who and where? and (b) will Beechdean and the #98 GTE Am squad utilise the availability of 2016 machinery this year??

It also wouldn't be beyond possibility to see Beechdean AMR join the WEC party with at least a partial WEC season covering the European rounds.

We shall find out soon ……………………….
