Change of direction for Jamie Chadwick in 2017

Wednesday, February 22, 2017

After what seemed like an eternal delay, it was great to read this morning BRDC Risinhg Star Jamie Chadwick confirm her 2017 racing plans albeit not in a GT car!!

Having risen from grass routes kart racing in 2011 through onto the Ginetta Juniors programme just a year later, she took the domestic GT scene by storm when she and co-driver Ross Gunn secured the 2015 British GT GT4 Drivers Championship with the Beechdean AMR team in their V8 Vantage.

Since then she has progressed onto securing a co driver 24hr win, coach celebrity drivers, commentate on mainstream sports channels and gain her full Nordschleife race licence.

Today, she takes a parallel path in her racing career by joining the Double R Racing British Formula 3 team learning her craft in a aero dependant single seater racer having tested a similar car on a couple of occasions last year.

“It will be a fascinating learning curve and we have set out a two-year programme for me to establish myself and make my mark in the series. I’m also hoping to compete in a few GT events this year, but my main focus will be Formula 3. It’s a fantastic opportunity and I’d especially like to thank Tom Gaymor, Anthony Hieatt and everyone else who has assisted me with this decision.”

Jamie’s first ‘official’ appearance as a Double R driver will come during the pre-season BRDC British F3 and British GT Media Day at Snetterton on Tuesday, 28th March. The opening three rounds of the 24 race season will then take place over Easter weekend, 15th/16th/17th April, at Oulton Park in Cheshire.

Reacting to her news release today Jamie has also not discounted any cameo appearance in a GT car somewhere in continental Europe either!!
