Clipsal 500 - now an AMR no show event
Wednesday, March 01, 2017
Whilst Aston Martin Racing fans were celebrating the arrival of De La Torre Racing into the 24H Series event at the Circuit of the America's it appears that we have now lost our final entry into this weekend's opener of the Australian GT Championship down under.
Just a month ago it was reported that the series opener in Adelaide - the Clipsal 500 would have two AMR entries, one from each of Miedecke Stone Motorsport and one from series promotor Tony Quinn teams.
With the demise of the MSM car just after Bathurst when customer driver Tony Bates elected to use a Mercedes AMG instead of the V12 Vantage that still left the Darrell Lea sponsored car - or at least it did until this morning.
News coming out of the event has confirmed that Quinn will now race his son's 2016 Australian Endurance Championship winning McLaren 650S instead.
