Great results for the three lone Astons at VLN 1

Saturday, March 25, 2017

The first of the 2017 VLN series of races returned to the Nordschleife today with the four hour
ADAC Westfalenfahrt race.

Featuring just three cars from the Aston Martin stable amongst a grid of over 190 cars, you could have been easily mistaken that the #188 Avia Racing V8 Vantage GT4, the #150 Aston Martin Test Centre Vantage N24 and its sister #144 Vantage S of ever having any hope of picking up any spoils.

Such is the characteristics of, together with the trials and tribulations of racing on the 'Green Hell' circuit  itself that the VLN stalwarts Avia Racing were able to come away with a SP10 Class win overall - admittedly in a class of just five cars with their Aston Martin stable mates also picking up second and third for the #144 and #150 respectively in the SP8 class

Whilst the #144 did field some more Nordschleife competent racers the #150 car did include a 19 year German lad (Kim Luis Schramm) who is another looking to transfer from single seaters and into GT's. One to keep an eye on there.

The next race in the series is in just two weeks time.
