Things going the right way for Solaris in Estoril

Friday, April 28, 2017

Now bedecked with the logo's and names of its sponsor's, the #007 Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage GT3 of AMR Partner Team Solaris Motorsport have been cranking up the numbers in both Private Testing and then Free Practice ready for this weekend's opening rounds of the International GT Open Championship in Estoril.

Running in anger for the first time since its 'creation' back in the Italian team's workshop over the last couple of weeks, drivers Franceso Sini and Mauro Calamia have been piling in the laps and decreasing lap times as they get to grips with their brand new GT3 as they work alongside engineers from Prodrive.

Starting out with lap times of 1:42:473 in the first of the Private testing sessions yesterday the team then went on to improve that to a best time of 1:38:518 by the end of the first Free Practice session today. On a combined front that places the team midway in the opening grid of twenty cars for Saturday's and Sunday's races.

Next track action for the team will be Qualifying tomorrow morning ready for Race 1 in the afternoon with the same again on Sunday.

We wish them all the best…………!!
