Hot on the heels of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Oman Racing with TF Sport are gearing up for another demanding endurance event, the Total 24 Hours of Spa, and are delighted to announce that 21-year-old Ross Gunn will join the team for the event.
The team will field the #97 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for Gunn, Ahmad Al Harthy, Euan McKay and Charlie Eastwood. Gunn, who has previously competed in the European Le Mans Series with Beechdean AMR, has a background in karting before stepping up to Formula 4.
In 2015 he claimed the British GT GT4 Championship before graduating to GT3 the following season. Now very much part of the Aston Martin Racing family, he is looking forward to the challenge of the 24 Hours of Spa.
Ross Gunn
“I got the call about a month ago and I’m delighted to be starting my first race with TF Sport and in the Blancpain GT Series at the Spa 24. I’ve known Tom for a number of years as an Aston Martin Racing contracted driver, so when the opportunity came about, it was just about starting the preparation.
“I’ve spent three weeks in the simulator - which is useful - and I’m looking forward to the upcoming test at the circuit, which will be crucial. I need to make the most out of that. It’s my first proper international race in ten months, so I am really looking forward to working with Ahmad, Charlie and Euan – and I’m so determined to do a good job.”
Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director
“Ross should be a good fit with our three main drivers. He is a test and development driver with AMR and his job is to prepare cars for the track, so I have full confidence that he will be able to deliver in our all-Silver driver line-up. We’ve had a bit of a tough start to our campaign this year, so it will be great to turn it around at Spa.”
