Aston Martin Racing attendees announced for WEC Prologue

Monday, July 08, 2019

As scary as it may seem, but the World Endurance Championship have today published their provisional entry list for the Prologue Official Test from the Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona in little over two weeks time.

With the new winter season based Championship now starting at the end of August at Silverstone, the end of their Super-season at Le Mans just a few weeks ago has left little time for the teams to settle and regroup ahead of the formalities ahead of the new 2019-2020 season.

Of course with the absence of both Ford and BMW moving forward, that leaves just Aston Martin Racing, Porsche and Ferrari as competing in the GTE Pro class with AMR indicating a single Vantage GTE at the test for drivers Nicki Thiim, Marco Sorensen, Maxime Martin and Alex Lynn.

In GTE Am, this season allows Gentleman drivers Paul Dalla Lana and TF Sports Salih Yoluc to move up to the new Vantage GTE for the first time. Canadian businessman Dalla Lana is the sole name listed so far with Yoluc again being joined by Charlie Eastwood in his car.

Thirty cars shall compete over the two day test at the new circuit for this year - previously the Prologue was held at Le Castellet in France and will comprise of a total of 16 hours track time, with two four-hour test sessions scheduled for both Tuesday 23 July and Wednesday 24 July (10h00-14h00 and 17h00 – 21h00).
