Japanese Super GT concludes this weekend
Friday, November 01, 2019
After seven action packed rounds so far, the 2019 Japanese Super GT Series comes to a conclusion this weekend as the circus of forty something GT500 and GT300 cars hit the track for the Twin Ring Motegi GT 250km race on Sunday.
Again featuring in the more densely populated GT300 field will be the #7 D'Station Racing Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT3 of JP de Oliveira and Tomonobu Fujii, two people certainly looking to end their year in the National GT series on a high.
Having endured what could only be (politely) described as a 'character building' season so far with their new AMR car, countless races have unfortunately countered for next to nothing after accident damage, technical issues and late punctures thwarted their otherwise best of efforts to leave the team languishing towards the bottom of the GT300 table with just nine points.
This weeks news that the team will also now be pushing into the Asian Le Mans Series that starts just next month with one of their fleet of three AMR Vantage GT3 with Fujii and team boss Satoshi Hoshino alongside AMR factory driver Ross Gunn may (hopefully) lift the resolve of the team to end the season on an ultimate class high by the end of Sunday.
