TF Sport needing to extend their GT4 lead at a rain soaked Snetterton this weekend

Saturday, October 03, 2020

Having endured a sodden first day of track activities ahead of the penultimate round of the 2020 British GT Championship from Snetterton this weekend, it appears that the twenty-two cars have another rain-soaked day to look forward to tomorrow during the two – one hour races.

With the Beechdean AMR Aston Martin Racing GT3 not available to make the trip to Norfolk this week, that has left just the two full season TF Sport AMR Vantage GT4’s to look out for this weekend as both the #95 and #97 cars of Connor O’Brien/Patrick Kibble and Jamie Caroline/Dan Vaughan tie at the head of the GT4 Drivers Championship after the six rounds so far raced.

Heavy rain again on the Met Office weather forecast from about midday onwards, it certainly looks that those hardy fans who have bought their tickets in advance will do well to keep themselves both dry and warm as they watch the GT races that start at both 10:15 and 13:10hrs local.

Having completed the necessary Pro and Am drivers Qualifying sessions today will see Vaughan start Race 1 from P3 in class and just ahead of stablemate O’Conner whilst in Race 2, the #95 of Kibble will start two places ahead of the #97 in P3.

With five drivers less than ten points behind the two TF Sport crews, Snetterton and its expected foul weather leave little room for error before the Championship moves onto its finale at Silverstone next month.

As usual, both races will be streamed live via the Series media channels
