Best of luck wishes to the two TF Sport GT4 crews ahead of tomorrows British GT finale

Saturday, November 07, 2020

Again, all the formalities are now over and it’s just the small matter of three hours of racing ahead for the thirty-seven GT3 and GT4 cars as the 2020 British GT Championship comes to an end tomorrow after the Silverstone 500.

Whilst the four Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3’s are of course a welcome additions to the conclusion of this most bizarre of seasons, none are involved within any Championship battle as that honour is reserved for the two TF Sport AMR Vantage GT4 cars of #97 Jamie Caroline/Dan Vaughan and #95 Patrick Kibble/Connor O’Brien who enter into one last four way battle with two other car crews for the GT4 Drivers and GT4 Silver Cup (and team) titles.

With Qualifying for tomorrows event resolved earlier this afternoon, it is the #97 that leads the way off in terms of cars with still a mathematical chance of taking either of the GT4 Class titles at tomorrows green flag lap from P2 with their sister #95 car slightly further back in P6.

Importantly for them, their main Championship contenders – the #58 HHC McLaren starts from behind both TF Sport cars in P7 and suffers the maximum additional success penalty with an extra 5 seconds over the #97 car and an extra 10 seconds over the #95 car but there remains far too many other variables for anything to be considered as given.

We wish all four drivers the best of luck.
