Out of the shadows and into the new era of AMR racing in Dubai

Wednesday, February 10, 2021

As the Dubai Autodrome clock counts around to the start of the first officially timed Free Practice session of the 2021 Asian Le Mans Series tomorrow, today saw Aston Martin Racing present further information in just how their factory assistance to the Partner and Customer teams worldwide will form, beyond that of a factory driver.

Being supported with some cracking photographs from the likes of Drew Gibson and Andrew Lofthouse et al which have been hitting our social media channels today, AMR drew upon the factory team’s collective wealth of knowledge, experience and depth of opportunity to help out their team’s both on site and from an effective Control Room back at base in the UK.

Full details on that can be found HERE

With the conclusion of the third and final private test session today, there were obviously no clear indicators of constant pace from any of the thirty six LMP2, LMP3 and GT3 runners as all reserved these sessions for familiarity sessions and general set up and team practice before the official Free Practice sessions of tomorrow before moving into Qualifying on Friday and into Saturday’s season opening four hour race.

With just twenty fours hours between race one and two of the new season, that leaves little to no time for any team to recover from any significant incident across the four race, two week calendar!

PS - Keep an another eye out tomorrow for news of another race programme for Ross Gunn!!
