Also getting ready for the weekend

Finalising this weekend’s Aston Martin Racing customer team activities sees a trio of older, normally aspirated AMR Vantage GT4’s compete at both the second round of the Britcar Endurance Championship from Snetterton and at Road America with the fourth round of the World Racing League for Florida based Automatic Racing.

Just two Aston’s this time around in Britcar as the Team Brit #68 car of Aaron Morgan and Bobby Trundley look to replicate their performances of the opening round at Silverstone two weeks ago when they had to settle for just one class podium. The #38 Triple M Automotive AMR of Dale and Mark Albutt will be hoping for better as they finished the opening round in the mid table in class after the two opening races.

Then over in the USA, we have this weekend the next double header meeting of the WRL Series from Road America that will see the return of Automatic’s older generation AMR Vantage GT4 Grand Am specification race car that their IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge runners Rob Ecklin Jnr, Ramin Abdolvahabi will share with long term team customer, Steven Davison in the Can-Am Endurance Cup.

Like many of the WRL Series events, this weekend will feature an eight-hour race on both Saturday and Sunday around the 4.1 mile circuit.

We had hoped for two such cars this weekend but unfortunately the Prosport Competition AMR Vantage GT4 GA car that so nearly won in race 1 last time out is still awaiting parts but that car should be out in time for the next round at Daytona in early June.
