Time now to plan their races ahead of tomorrows GT4 European Series double header

Saturday, May 29, 2021

An interesting spread of Qualifying places earlier for the six Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 crews ahead of tomorrow’s two races that form the second round of the GT4 European Series from Paul Ricard, France.

With only one podium position between then at last month’s opening round at Monza, all will be looking for better performances tomorrow as both races will take place (this weekend only) on Sunday in order to make way for the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup 6hr race into the night that the GT4 series again support.

With half the AMR crew grid also candidates within AMR’s latest intake of drivers into the Drivers Academy, it was the Am class #89 AGS Events Racing car of Nicolas Gomar who was the quickest Aston in Q1, claiming a P3 start in tomorrow’s first race with Marcus Lungstrass and his #18 Am class Racing One Aston close behind in P7.

The first of the Silver Cup Aston runners was Cesar Gazeau and his #27 AGS Events car in P13 with a Tom Canning coached Ruben Del Sarte P18 in his #55 Mirage Racing car. Hugo Conde’s #45 AGS car starts from P29 overall with Pascal Bachmann’s Street Art Racing #7 car towards the rear in P37 out of the 42 cars that set a Q1 time.

In Q2 for tomorrow afternoons race, the #27 AGS car of this time Konstantin Lachenauer was this time the fastest Aston crew Qualifying P14 overall with Tom Canning P16 and Akhil Rabindra P23 in his #45 AGS car. With the two amateur drivers now in their respective #7 and #89 cars, it was unsurprising to see them towards the rear of the grid in P32 and P39 respectively.

Again, fully live streamed on the series social media channels, race 1 begins at 09:50hrs and Race 2 at 15:35hrs local for their two, one-hour long races.
