Feathers Motorsport claim a further podium but Century land in trouble at GT Cups visit to Oulton Park

Some eventful scenes were to be had at the GT Cup Championship’s visit to Oulton Park this weekend for their fourth round of the season.
This time around it was just the Feathers and Century Motorsport team’s entering the 2019 specification model of the Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT4 (as Chris Murphy was racing at Silverstone in Britcar) for this single day – two pit-stop race event.
Torrential rain affected the early morning warm up and Qualifying sessions of Saturday but at least the day did brighten up enough to give two dry, forty minute races for both James Guess with Tom Canning in the #82 car and David Holloway with Bradley Ellis in the #15 car.
Guess was the highest AMR qualifier in Race 1, starting from P4 in the GTH Class in the red, white and blue car whilst Holloway would start from P9 in the same class with his black and gold car. Track conditions had improved with a distinct dry line but any contact with the grass outfield would be ‘curtains’!!.
Whilst struggling to keep up with race events on track and timing via the live stream, a second and unplanned return to pit lane for the #82 car would see them eventually finish P9 in class whilst the #15 would finish slightly higher in P7.
Race 2 was definitely better for both cars (in the outset at least) despite an early Safety Car for a three car accident that lost over ten minutes of race time. Under warm sunshine and a track surface that would offer a little more grip, the #82 would come through to claim P2 in class with the #15 car close behind P3 in class – or so they thought!
Post race events have since disqualified the #15 from the results of Race 2 for breaches of Regulation C1.1.5
The next round is at Silverstone in the middle of August.
