The first of hopefully many new AMR team announcements

Thursday, November 18, 2021

We like surprises – and especially so during the long, drawn-out days and nights in-between the end of one season and the beginning of next so today’s unexpected news on social media was warmly welcome.

Having heard in recent weeks (from many sources inside of Aston Martin Racing and out), that AMR powered attendance in many GT3 and GT4 series across Europe would potentially increase in numbers for the 2022 season, the first of hopefully a long line of news announcements came through today to support that theory.

R-Racing, a team up until now more accustomed to running Ginetta Junior race cars has todays confirmed as taking the next logical step up the racing ladder with one of their young drivers into the GT4 class of racing and an entry into next season’s British GT Championship.

With only outline details being made available, today’s news confirmed that the team will be entering an AMR Vantage GT4 into next season’s British GT Championship with driver Josh Miller following two seasons in the Ginetta Junior Series for the 16-year-old from Kent.

No co-driver was announced today but with the team also taking on full Partner status with AMR, it could be another factory supported driver like Matt Topham had with factory driver Darren Turner this season which helped them to earn themselves their GT4 Pro-Am Championship after another thrilling season at Donington Park last month.

We like good news!!

Welcome to #TeamAMR
