This weeks news from the world of #TeamAMR (well some of it anyway)

The dust may now have settled after the Rolex 24 over at Daytona International Speedway on the other side of the Atlantic, but this week has also seen an equally busy period of pre-season testing activity for many existing or indeed new Aston Martin Racing powered teams.

Starting in no particular order of event or importance we have this week seen the French based Mirage Racing team confirm a new two AMR Vantage GT4 effort into their National FFSA GT4 Series this year with another significant name from within the AMR drivers roster helping out this time.

Returning to the series to defend his Silver Cup Championship win with Romain Leroux last season has Valentin Hasse-Clot move from the AGS Events Racing team to the Mirage Team to join co-driver Romano Ricci in the Pro-Am Class.

Also confirm by the series earlier this week has a second Mirage AMR GT4 confirmed as running within the Silver Cup Class with Ruben Del Sarte again behind the wheel of that. Presently, there is no second driver mentioned but the young Dutchman make good progress throughout the year in the car with Tom Canning supporting and mentoring him in the 2021 GT4 European Series effort and it would be good to see Tom back in that supporting role again somewhere.

Mirage Racing also confirmed a parallel two car GT4 European Series effort.

GPA Racing have been out testing their two new AMR Vantage GT4’s down at Nogaro ahead of their FFSA GT4 commitments this season (and expected GT4 European Series effort as well) with a driver line up that has yet to be officially revealed – so we won’t either!

These four Aston’s join a further five that have already been confirmed by the AGS Events Racing team as well as the new Racing Spirit of Lemans team with still a few more potential waiting in the wings ahead of their season opener at Nogaro.

Over in Germany, we have had the ‘Guardian of the AMR V12 Vantage GT3’ Alex Lienau confirm that he has not only taken collection of the former Dane Train AMR Vantage GTE but also the more recently the development chassis for the latest iteration of AMR Vantage GTE/GT3 that he hopes to race himself somewhere soon. This was also the car that Ben Keating raced at the Rolex 24 last year with TF Sport.

Finally for today, we learn of the T7 Motorsport AMR Vantage GT4 effort that drivers Peter Montague and former WEC GTE-Am Champion Stuart Hall will race together in the all new British Endurance Championship. They were out again testing at Silverstone today ahead of their Official Test Day later this month.

Whilst Hall needs no further introduction, Gentleman Driver Peter Montague has a long lasting relationship with the AMR brand with the Aston Martin Owners Club.
