Next stop Barber Motorsport for the two Aston Martin teams in WRL

Wednesday, March 02, 2022

After a technically challenging season opener at the NOLA Motorsport Park two weeks ago, the Prosport Competition Aston Martin Vantage team will be out again this weekend for the second round of the World Racing League Series from the Barber Motorsport Park.

Racing last time with SRO GT4 America Aston Martin racers Aaron Povoledo and Ross Chouest together with Matt Rivard and Zack Ping, a fuel pick-up issue three hours into the opening eight-hour race blighted their class P3 position start for them to lose too much time in pit lane to be contestable by the end before contact with another car ended their day early for the second race.

Both Chouest and Povoledo used the seat time in preparation for their SRO GT4 America and GT America season’s where Chouest just missed out on a class podium at the opening race of the GT America season opener at St Petersburg last weekend.

This weekend’s nine plus seven-hour races features a new driver line-up aboard their AMR Vantage GT4 GA spec’ car with team regular Dwayne Moses being joined by American Nick Pearson and British racer Mark Doran.

According to this weekend’s entry list, the #143 Prosport Competition Aston should be joined by the #909 Aston Martin from Automatic Racing – but then we saw that last time as well so that car is yet TBC.
