Eight AMR Vantage GT4s look for more at second round of FFSA GT4
Wednesday, May 11, 2022
After the opening round of the season at Nogaro just over a month ago, this weekend sees the eight Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 entries make their way to Magny-Cours for the second round of the 2022 FFSA GT4 Series.
Again, featuring an entry list of over forty cars, the Aston Martin contingent will be looking to maintain the success enjoyed within their AM class drivers at Nogaro whilst also improving upon other results for them in both the Pro-Am and Silver Cup classes.
Represented by the AGS Events Racing, Mirage Racing, Racing Spirit of Lemans and the GPA Racing stables, it was the #72 GPA Racing Aston of Kevin Jimenez and Florent Grizaud who fared best last time out with a pair of P3 finishes to hold third within their Championship table as well as good double point tallies for the AGS Events crews of Stephane Desbrosse/Lauris Nauroy (#79) and Didier Dumaine/Christophe Carriere (#161) and despite a DNF for the latter in the first race.
In the Pro-Am class, the best points finishers were from Ronald Basso/Sandro Perissouthi and their #92 Spirit of Lemans car after the #13 Mirage Racing Aston of Valentin Hasse-Clot and Romano Ricci missed out on a double podium thanks to a post-race time penalty in race one. They sit just one point behind the #92 crew in P6 with the #89 AGS Events entry for Nicolas Gomar/Loris Cabirou further back again going into this weekend.

That leaves the two Silver Cup entries of both Ewen Hachez/Hugo Bac in the AGS #007 car and Romain Carton/Victor Weyrich in their #74 Racing Spirit of Lemans cars – both cars enjoyed double race, point scoring finishes to presently sit mid to low in their table but will need to see an improvement this weekend as not to allow the leaders to get too far away too quickly into the season.
Again, this second round will consist of two one-hour races over the course of Saturday and Sunday.
