Heart of Racing and D'Station Racing to battle it out this weekend on opposing sides of the world

Two other Aston Martin Racing powered events taking place this weekend (beyond that already mentioned and the Le Mans 24hr Test Day sees teams compete on the opposing sides of the world.

Over in Detroit, there will be the latest in a quick-fire succession of rounds that forms the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Sprint Cup Championship that sees the #27 Heart of Racing Vantage GTD back in action.

Still without much luck in either the Sprint Cup or in the Championship as a whole so far, prior duties for the usual driver line up aboard that car force Maxime Martin to miss the event with Ross Gunn again pairing up with his 2021 IMSA Sprint Cup GTD Champion Roman De Angelis.

Competing again around the compact ‘street circuit’ of Belle Isle, sees the smallest entry list yet for an IMSA race with just six DPi cars entered alongside that of the ten GTD cars.

Last year, the #23 Heart of Racing car of Gunn and De Angelis won their class and a repeat of that will obviously boost the team moving forward after lowly class and DNF’s in the Sprint Cup rounds so far.

Then in Fuji, we have the annual Super Taikyu Series 24 hour visit to the circuit with this time the #47 D’Station Racing AMR Vantage GT8R being the sole Aston Martin representative again this time as their GT3 crew will be over at Le Mans for the 24Hr event official test day.

This will be the second round of the 2022 season having raced the opening five-hour race at Suzuka earlier in March where the #47 car registered a P3 ST1 class podium in its debut event for drivers Tatsuya Hoshino, Max Orido and Tsubasa Kondo.
