Solid Aston Martin success from the Nordschleife now tinged with sadness

Sunday, May 08, 2022

Congratulations to all the Aston Martin Racing teams who took part in this weekends ADAC Total 24 Rennen Qualification race weekend aboard their Vantage GT3 and GT4 platforms although that news does come with the news of sadness.

As reported by AMR’s photographer on site at the circuit, a marshal at the circuit sadly succumbed to injuries from a medical emergency at the circuit earlier and for that we obviously extend our thoughts and prayers to all family, friends and track colleagues affected by today’s news. The ‘orange army’ continues to provide an invaluable and essential asset at every circuit around the world so that we can enjoy this sport and for that, we will be eternally grateful.

Going back to the positive track action this weekend, three AMR Vantage GT4’s from the locally based PROsport Racing team as well as two GT4’s from the Dorr Motorsport team enjoyed great results across their SP8T and SP10 classes locking out the top two places in SP8T and top three places in the SP10 class after Saturday’s first race.

Those results were bolstered by TF Sport’s first venture around the Nordschleife with drivers Charlie Eastwood and Valentin Hasse-Clot deputising for others already busy this weekend in other series in one of their AMR Vantage GT3’s to finish P16 in their SP9 class at their first time of asking.

Today’s race has seen similar success with the #90 TF Sport car moving up to P8 in class with both the #82 PROsport car taking another class win in SP10 and the #69 Dorr car also taking another class win in the SP8T class.

The form sheet now resets again ahead of the start of formal track activity at the start of the ADAC Total 24-hour race week that starts at the end of the month.

God bless!
