Three Astons due at this weeks Spa 24 Official test

Sixty-two cars made their way to Spa Francorchamps over the weekend in time for Official Test Days ahead of this season’s Total Energies Spa 24 Hours.

Amongst that number we of course have the two GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup full season entries from Beechdean AMR as well as the recently announced Pro class effort from the American Heart of Racing team racing at the 24 hours for the first time with the assistance of TF Sport.

Watching social media traffic so far this week, we have seen confirmation that Nicki Thiim and Maxime Martin will be in attendance with their #95 Pro class car along with Theo Nouet in his #97 Gold Cup entry. It wouldn’t be too extravagant to believe that Marco Sorenson, Andrew Howard and Valentin Hasse-clot will also be at the circuit over the two day test this week.

Despite there being a round of the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship this weekend from Watkins Glen, we have also seen that the Ross Gunn is also presently navigating his way to the Belgian circuit after a number of flights were cancelled, affecting the travel plans of many of those listed above. 

Gunn will partner Charlie Eastwood and Alex Riberas aboard the #23 Heart of Racing with TF Sport Pro class effort – so if Gunn can make it, we assume that Riberas and Eastwood will be there too?

The main event will run over the last weekend of July as another culmination of the SRO’s annual Speed Week at the circuit.
