Beechdean AMR being kept busy post season both at home and abroad

Whilst one Beechdean AMR Vantage GT3 has been put to good use this week as one of the workhorses within the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award process, the other was seeing out an era with another as well as looking forward to next year.

Over at Silverstone this week, we have seen the familiarly livered AMR Vantage GT3 being used by young drivers Ollie Bearman, Jamie Chadwick, Luke Browning and Louis Foster as part of their two-day assessment before the final decision is made by a judging panel of the highest order.

Whilst that was under way, the sister Beechdean AMR Vantage GT3, as used by the team within the GT world Challenge Europe Endurance Cup Series was being put through its paces by works drivers Ross Gunn and a departing Maxime Martin over in Spain.

What did come out from Gunn and his social media posts was that this test represented the final act of the departing Belgian before he takes up his new BMW factory duties but what was most intriguing was the reasons for this test in the first place.

When asked about that, members of the team remained tight lipped so we can only assume that that car carried undisclosed ‘new parts’ that would allow it to remain competitive into its fifth season of racing next year. Was it a full ‘evo’ version as previous intimated – only time will tell.
