Six Aston Martins kick off the GT America Series opener at St Petersburg next weekend

Friday, February 24, 2023

A healthy twenty-three car grid awaits the opening round of the 2023 GT America Series around the street circuit of St Petersburg next weekend with its traditional format of GT3 and GT4 machinery being raced by just the bronze ranked gentleman drivers.

Again with a healthy representation from the Aston Martin Racing powered fraternity within the GT4 class, this year we also welcome the #007 The Racers Group Vantage GT3 entry for their team stalwart Derek DeBoer fresh from his pre-season testing exploits this week with Valentin Hasse-Clot at Nola.

Joining him has the reigning GT4 Champion Ross Chouest return with his #50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Aston Martin alongside runner up and former champion Jason Bell with his new for 2023 Flying Lizard prepared Vantage.

With the addition of Gray Newell again with his #25 Heart of Racing Aston Martin, the grid is further bolstered by the confirmation that both Todd Coleman and Moisey Uretsky will also be present in their part IMSA part SRO programmes with their #69 Archangel and #55 Baby Bull Racing Aston Martins respectively.

The tightening 1.8-mile circuit and solid concrete walls will be a tough one for all as the opening round of the season as was painfully demonstrated by Bryan Putt at the event last year.

As usual, the race weekend will comprise of two forty-minute sprint races over both the Friday and Saturday of the IndyCar support event.
