Seven Aston Martins at FFSA GT4 Prologue test yesterday (Updated)

Wednesday, March 15, 2023

Yesterday saw the official Prologue Test for the French FFSA GT4 Series from the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois to the south-east of Paris for what was to be eight hours of pre-season testing for the twenty cars that attending.

With the full season entry list reportedly standing at over thirty cars again, some were obviously missing from the test, as was any official confirmation of the drivers within them but what we were told was that seven Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 cars were at least in attendance.

There were two cars apiece for the AGS Events Racing and Mirage Racing teams with their confirmed driver line ups of Nicolas Gomar/Hugo Bac (#89), Didier Dumaine/Christophe Carriere (#98), Yves Lemaitre/Vincent Beltoise (Mirage) and Louis Meric/Romain Carton (Mirage) respectively.

Joining them were two further cars from the Racing Spirit of Lemans team who have just two names confirmed so far in Victor Weyrich and Mateo Villagomez alongside the #39 GPA Racing Aston Martin who have so far not confirmed anyone although one name is highly suspected.

Like the British GT Media Day at Donington, this test was also hampered by poor weather with rain and cold track temperatures hampering the running until things cleared out during the day.

The season itself starts at the Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro over the weekend of 7/10th April.

UPDATE

Since posting this earlier today, the GPA Racing team have since confirmed that 22 year old former Moto-cross rider Baudouin Detout will be competing within the series aboard their yellow #38 car with an (as yet) undetermined co-driver.
