Saturday, June 03, 2023

Some stunning photographic material emerging out of Le Mans town over the last few hours as the sixty-two entries into this year’s 100-year anniversary evet of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans settles into its preliminary stages this weekend with the Le Pesage (scrutineering) ahead of tomorrow’s test day.

With three Aston Martin Racing crews to cover, its TF Sport’s resident photographer Andrew Lofthouse again the busiest as he supports the commitment from the full season #25 ORT with TF Sport and #777 D’Station Racing entries as well as the additional #72 invitational entry from their European Le Mans Series programme with two cars displaying stunning new liveries for the first time.

Those three cars, along with the #55 GMB Motorsport Aston Martin Racing Vantage GTE entries all passed through the technical formalities of the Le Pesage down in the Place de La Republique and when as the now customary driver interviews upon stage yesterday with the fifth AMR entry from the Heart of Racing team doing likewise earlier this morning (still awaiting those images).

With fine weather bedecking the town (and presumably the circuit) at the moment, tomorrows two test sessions look like that there will be no interruption or curved balls thrown at them by Mother Nature, but then with ambient temperatures expected into the higher 20’s, tyre management will soon become a ‘thing’ for them to consider.

Minimum laps covered with a minimum delta required of course for all of this years LM24 debutants plus housekeeping exercises again all things required from all by the end of tomorrow’s track sessions.

Welcome to Le Mans 24hr 2023 – Happy Birthday!!
