More the merrier at GT Winter Series private test day at Estoril today

Wednesday, January 10, 2024

Today appeared to be a productive day for the teams and crews electing to make us of the GT Winter Series private test day at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal where an increased number of Aston Martin Racing powered teams took part.

Returning to the Iberian Peninsula again to make us of the available winter track time was the TF Sport AMR team who this time went out with their former ORT With TF Sport AMR Vantage car that drivers Ahmad Al Harthy, Michael Dinan and Charlie Eastwood raced within the World Endurance Championship last season.

Still sporting that crews beautiful orange coloured car, we know that Henrique Chaves was again on hand to support a second driver whom we prefer not to name at the moment as we don’t yet have official team confirmation of their intentions for 2024. Circulating in the low winter sun, the car looked beautiful in what we saw listed as still in GTE configuration.

Then there were the two AMR Vantage GT4 crews from both Forsetti Motorsport and Racar Motorsport whom we expected to take part within the full GT4 Winter Series that starts with further private testing tomorrow, ahead of a three-race event this weekend.

Mikey Porter and Jamie Day were aboard the Forsetti car whilst Roberto Faria and Manuel Giao were aboard the white Racer Aston Martin.

Unexpectedly joining them were two further AMR Vantage GT4 cars from the locally based Racar Motorsport team with M Martines and B De Lima in one and Ruben Vaquinhas in another.
