Second powerhouse GT3 entry from Blackthorn into British GT

Making a return to Britain’s top-flight GT Championship thankfully within one of AMR’s latest generation of car is former multiple GT3 Drivers Champion Jonny Adam who will this time pair up with another familiar face in Giacomo Petrobelli within the team’s #87 car.
“I’m stoked to be back on the grid in the British GT Championship again, with Blackthorn AMR,” Adam said. “I have worked with Giacomo in the past and I think with the new Aston Martin GT3 and the Blackthorn team behind us we can certainly challenge for race wins and put up a good fight in the championship. The new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 has been really enjoyable to drive in all of the development testing and I can’t wait for round one now at Oulton Park.”
The experienced Italian Am class driver meanwhile, will be making his third return to the Championship having restricted his past involvement to that of the Silverstone 500 rounds back in 2020 and 2021 when he was with both Tom Canning and Charlie Eastwood respectively within one of TF Sport’s Vantage GT3’s.
“I am really looking forward to being back in British GT with Aston Martin and Blackthorn, and to have Jonny as a team-mate,” added the Italian. “It looks like the championship has become even more competitive since I last drove in it, with lots of fast Am’s and factory drivers, but we are hoping to be fighting at the front.”
As things stand this morning, this crew makes up the fourth Aston Martin Racing powered crew to enter this year’s Championship – the two recent announcements from Blackthorn in GT3 and the prior GT4 announcements from Forsetti Motorsport.
Somehow, we think though that there may still be enough room for another one or two Astons?
