Seven Aston Martin Vantage GT4s for Iberian Supercars visit to Portimao

Wednesday, October 23, 2024

Another bumper seven Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 entry is in store for this weekend’s penultimate round of the Iberian Supercars Series as a forty-three-car entry converges onto the Autodrome Internacional do Algarve at Portimao.

Having seen their 2024 season entry expand considerably over the winter, the series started its campaign at Jerez at the end of May before progressing onto the likes of Jarama, Estoril and Valencia ahead this weekend’s fifth round and before concluded back in Estoril at the beginning of December.

Racar Motorsport and Araujo Competicao again field the six of these Aston Martin’s amongst the available Pro and bronze classes whilst the French Mirage team makes up the seventh entry with its own bronze class entry.

This weekend sees some driver changes as Bruno Pereira teams up with Bailey Voisin within the #007 Araujo Competicao #007 Pro entry as well as Duarto Pinto Coelho replaces Guilherme Lemos within the teams #28 Pro class entry.

Championship wise, most of the classes are being controlled by one crew per class although mathematically all of these can be surpassed by trailing crew should full race points and a poor finish for the leaders go in their fashion.

Friday and Saturday morning track action will see the Iberian Supercars have Free Practice before moving into two Qualifying sessions later in the day with its two forty-five-minute races scheduled across both Sunday morning and afternoon.
