Le Mans 24 entry list confirmed - just the four full season AM/AMR entries though!!

Another bumper sixty-two entries have today been confirmed for this year’s 93rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, an event that will pleasantly see the return of the always eventful LMP2 class but not any further Aston Martin Racing powered entries.

With two Heart of Racing Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercars and two Aston Martin Racing Vantage LMGT3 cars from each of the Heart of Racing and Racing Spirit of Leman Partner teams already confirmed within the event as full season entrants, it was always difficult to see just where another entry could have come from within the ACO rules racing family as an automatic entry had not been secured by anyone from any other series.

That still leaves us two entries per Hypercar and LMGT3 classes as the topflight class grows from the eighteen-car entry of a normal FIA World Endurance Championship season to the twenty-car field indicated whilst the LMGT3 also grows from a usual eighteen car line to twenty-four for Le Mans plus the seventeen LMP2 entry with six cars on the reserve list.

With the new Valkyrie already stealing the hearts and minds of those who tuned into the opening round of the FIA WEC last weekend in Qatar, those V12’s screaming around the Circuit de La Sarthe will be a pleasure in its own right, but it might also stop one or two of you from snatching a quick nap somewhere during the race!

Roll-on June but don't forget that we have both Imola and Spa Francorchamps before that!!
