Season success and pre-event testing done for Aston Martin teams after NLS 3

Saturday’s fourth round of the Nurburgring Langstrecken Serie saw five Aston Martin Racin crews take to the infamous Nordschleife for another four-hour race as either part of their full season effort or in practice for other 24-hour races coming up in the calendar.

This time around, it was two Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3’s plus a Vantage GT4 from the Walkenhorst Motorsport team whilst the locally based Prosport Racing team entered the SP10 and SP8T Vantage GT4’s.

Running to their usual Friday/Saturday programme, the #34 Walkenhorst Pro class SP9 effort was this time made up of Nicki Thiim and David Pittard whilst Christian Krognes, Andres Buchardt and Stefan Aust made up their #36 SP9 Pro-Am entry with Niklas Abrahamsen, Joshua Hansen and Hermann Vortkamp within their new for 2025 AMR Vantage #191 entry.

Full season regulars in Guido and Maxime Dumarey were back aboard their #140 Prosport Racing SP8T AMR Vantage GT8R with whilst Yannik Himmels, Jorg Viebahn and Michel Albers returned within their #175 17A variant of the Vantage GT4 in SP10.

Fine weather returned to the Eifel mountains of western Germany to allow the whole meeting to be conducted under blue skies and warm spring sunshine. By the end of the four-hour race, however, both the #36 and #191 Walkenhorst cars had fallen by the wayside with both the #34 and #140 cars to return home fifth within their respective classes with the #175.

Walkenhorst GT World Challenge Europe Series drivers Oliver Soderstrom and Matteo Villagomez also earned their NLS Permit after a podium finish aboard the teams Hyundai I30 VT2 class entry.

That now also sees some of those Vantage GT3 drivers (with others obviously) move onto Spa Francorchamps this week for the annual Spa 24hours Prologue test at the circuit where both the Walkenhorst and Comtoyou Racing teams will be in action.
