Debut Le Mans Cup Series podium for the stand in Code Racing Development AMR crew

It was a debut event well done for the #11 Code Racing Development Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 within the final round of the Le Mans Cup Series from Portimao earlier this weekend that saw one final podium finish for their efforts.

Having stepped up to both the AMR platform and the ACO rules series at the turn of the year, the teams original pairing of Philipp Sager and Rory Van Der Steur got off to a flying start with two podium finishes for the team and crew after the opening two races.

The penultimate round to the 2025 season from Silverstone last month however saw the young American being absent from the car with a mountain bike injury being given as the course. His position was then taken by driver coach Valentin Hasse-Clot for that round, and it was expected that the same pairing would do the same this time out in Portimao.

A late driver change to team based FFSA GT4 racer Pascal Huteau and Racing Spirit of Leman GT4 European Series racer David Kullmann fill in the blanks for this weekend’s final two-hour round with Sager forgoing any possibility of championship success as a consequence.

With Huteau qualifying the car second in class behind the #91 Blackthorn AMR Vantage GT3 of Alex Martin and Charles Bateman, the GT3 inexperienced duo then went onto finish their first ACO rules race together third overall in class to round off a season with a smile on the face for both. From that race result, the French based team also finished fourth overall in class.

Whilst the #91 Blackthorn AMR did claim pole position, their race was sadly very short lived as their return to the series faltered just after the halfway stage with a DNF, but we will see them again later this year within the Asian Le Mans Series.
