Townsend Racing Powered by Fox Motorsport are the latest Aston Martin Racing powered team to announce their GT4 commitments into this season’s British GT Championship.

Following in the footsteps of both GBR Stratton Motorsport and Full Send Racing who have already confirmed their two AMR Vantage GT4 options this season (alongside the Beechdean AMR Vantage GT3), Townsend Racing Powered by Fox Motorsport will enter a solo new AMR Vantage GT4 into the Championship’s Pro-Am class for both James Townsend and second driver, yet to be confirmed.

Whilst both Townsend and Fox Motorsport will be no stranger to the Championship, the combination of all three together is something new which Townsend has described being “part of a multi-year strategy to push forwards with my own racing career and to create and strengthen a real relationship with one of the most iconic sportscar manufacturers of all time in Aston Martin. Who knows where this could lead in the future…”

Paul McNeilly (Fox Motorsport Team Principal) was equally bullish with this morning’s new saying “It’s fantastic to be back in the British GT Championship – the series that really enabled us to promote our abilities and achievements at an elite level when we first entered more than a decade ago. To be able to reunite with James – one of our most successful drivers –, to create Townsend Racing powered by Fox Motorsport – is equally thrilling. To become an Aston Martin Racing partner team represents another step forward for our team. It’s our target to establish ourselves as the benchmark Aston Martin GT4 team in the UK and with the championship-winning experience we have in the team, we have every intention of doing just that. We can’t wait for Silverstone.”

The AMR headcount ahead of the new British GT Championship season now stands at potentially six cars although only two of those have been confirmed with a full driver line up. Eyes will be looking towards Media Day at Silverstone on the 31st March where hopefully, all of these runners will be there.
