Young Driver AMR takes part in 2012 GT World Championship

Young Driver AMR is proud to announce they will compete in the 2012 GT World Championship. In 2012, the current GT1 World Championship will evolve into the GT World Championship. Since it’s inaugural season 2010, Young Driver AMR is competing at the forefront of the GT1 World Championship, claiming four victories so far. During the recent 24h hour of Spa Francorchamps, World Championship organiser Stéphane Ratel presented the plans for next year’s World Championship to the public, and confirmed as Young Driver AMR as one of seven teams so far. The 2012 concept will see a change in the GT-class system and will also allow GTE and GT3 cars into the World Championship.

„We are very proud to be among the first teams, which confirm their participation in the 2012 GT World Championship“, Young Driver AMR team principal Hardy Fischer says. „The championship delivered tremendous racing since it’s very first race last year. With the evolvement for the 2012 season, this championship will be even more exciting and were are very happy to be a part of the championship in the third consecutive season.“ Further details about the 2012 campaign of Young Driver will be communicated at a later time.

Young Driver AMR is currently third in the team championship of the GT1 World Championship, while the „Young Drivers“ Stefan Mücke/Darren Turner are fourth and Alex Müller/Tomas Enge are fifth in the drivers world championship with three race to go in China and Argentina.
