First success for Craft Bamboo in GT Asia

Saturday, May 16, 2015

Craft Bamboo Racing go into Sunday's Race 2 of the opening round of the GT Asia series in Korea having locked out the front row for both races and well deserved podium in Race 1.

Having already shown team intent by topping the timing charts during unofficial practice earlier the #88 car of Richard Lyons and Frank Yu claimed pole for Race 1 on Saturday whilst its sister #99 of Darryl O'Young and Jonathon Venter dutifully claimed pole for Race 2 during Saturdays qualifying.

Early upset in Race 1 was to sideline the #99 car when contact from behind on the opening lap ultimately forced O'Young to retire the car with broken suspension just as the #88 car was also being muscled out by the #1 Clearwater Ferrari to drop 3 positions by turn 6. By the end of the hour long race the #88 had recovered to third behind last years championship winning Ferrari and the ultimate race winning #37 Ferrari.

Tomorrow (Sunday) will see the start of Race 2.
