Opening round of new GT4 Cup at Oulton Park

Saturday, May 16, 2015

The first round of the newly reformed GT4 Cup was held at the first Aston Martin Owners Club meeting of 2015 at the Oulton Park circuit today.

Evolving from what was the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge last year the GT4 Cup allows both racing specification GT4's to compete alongside Gaydon produced but modified road cars for their own V8 Vantage Cup in an attempt to bolster grids from what became the norm during the twilight races of the GT4 Challenge series last year.

Unfortunately a field reminiscent of last year of only seven cars was to enter the race today featuring a car line up including four GT4's, an N24, a DB4 and a V8 Vantage Coupe.

Eventual race winner was series returnee David Tinn in his #19 Stratton Motor Co prepared GT4.

The next AMOC meeting will be at Donington at the end of June.
