Jarman to race Vantage GT2 at Le Mans 24 Hour Festival

Friday, May 22, 2015

British GT (GT3) driver Andrew Jarman will drive Aston Martin Racing’s GT2 V8 Vantage at the Aston Martin Le Mans Festival for Japanese Official Aston Martin Racing partner team, Alpha Classics Racing alongside team owner Hiroyuki Akane.

The exclusive race held during the morning buildup to this year’s 24 hours of Le Mans, will be Andrew’s first experience of the world famous Circuit de La Sarthe against a historic field of Aston Martin Racing GT2, GT3 and GT4 race cars.

Making a return to Alpha Classics Racing after driving their impressive Vantage GT2 in the first ever Aston Martin Challenge Japan event at Fuji Speedway in 2014, Andrew is taking advantage of a month break between racing his Eurostar backed Aston Martin GT3 in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship and an ideal opportunity to gain valuable experience as the Milton Keynes racer continues his journey through GT racing, with the goal of competing at the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Talking about his drive at the Festival, Jarman said:

“Firstly I have to say a big thank you to Mr Akane and Alpha Classics Racing for offering me this opportunity, this is good step towards achieving a lifelong goal to race at the 24 hours of Le Mans and I’m delighted to be part of such a historic event.

The Vantage GT2 is a superb car and one I know fairly well from my trip to Japan last season, Alpha Classics Racing is an exciting new team with big aspirations and I’m proud to be part of their program and to race alongside Mr Akane.

Aston Martin Racing has put together a superb event with an impressive entry from all over the world which should make for a great race, I can’t wait!"
