AMR rookies come away from the Ring on top

Their brief would have presumably to simply familiarise themselves with the complexities of the Nordschleife all in preparation for the N24 at the end May but for Aston Martin Racing WEC drivers Fernando Rees and Marco Sorensen their intention was different.

As newcomers to the circuit the AMR duo were restricted to an unfamiliar Aston Martin Test Centre entered V8 Vantage N24 instead of their more customary V8 Vantage GTE as well as having testing track time hampered by snow, ice and fog. Despite all of this the duo would qualify their SP8 class car in 136th out of the 173 entries.

Over the 4 hours of the race Sorensen and Rees were able to elevate their car up to 70th overall but more incredibly 3rd overall in the SP8 class, 3 laps behind the bigger and faster SP9 (GT3) cars which they are both due to compete in at the N24.

Results for AMR stablemates around them were mixed with the Fanclub Mathol Racing GT4 and the Aston Martin Test Centre Vantage S stopping mid race with various issues but Avia Racing took a class win in their #188 V8 SP10 Vantage.
