Young Driver AMR is ready for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps: The second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship is held this Saturday (May 7) at the scenic track in the Belgian Ardennes. For Young Driver AMR and the driver trio of Marco Sørensen, Nicki Thiim and Darren Turner in the Aston Martin Racing entered #95 Aston Martin Vantage GTE, the second round of the World Championship is one of the most important races of the calendar. The 6 Hours race is considered to be the dress rehearsal for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the most important endurance race in the world. Young Driver AMR had a successful start to its 2016 WEC campaign with a podium finish at opening round at Silverstone.

"Spa is a race unlike the other WEC rounds, as we are in final preparations for Le Mans“, says Young Driver AMR´s Jan Struve. "It’s the final race ahead of the 24 hours of Le Mans and a big test for the great race. After our strong start at Silverstone a good result at Spa would be a bonus, but our focus is on Le Mans. Spa is always very difficult strategy wise and it also marks the second race with our new tire partner Dunlop. At Silverstone we had a perfect race, were spot on with our strategy and had flawless pit stops. We hope for the same again at Spa.“

“Silverstone was a great start to the season for us in the #95 car. We learnt a lot over the weekend, especially about our Dunlop tyres. I’m sure we’ll be in a position to fight for the podium this time out at Spa. It’s a track I enjoy and it’s all great preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans”.

The 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps will start Saturday, 7 May at 14.30 hours CET. Eurosport broadcast the final minutes of the race live starting 19.00 hours.
