TF Sport prepare for GT Open at Paul Ricard

Friday, June 03, 2016

Todays first Free Practice session of the third round of the International GT Open series at the Paul Ricard circuit in southern France saw TF Sport run two Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3's by each of their drivers Salih Yoluc and Euan Hankey.

It transpires that the running of the #8 car was simply a shakedown test from Euan Hankey in preparation for that cars next outing at the Road to Le Mans, the non championship round of the GT3 Le Mans Cup championship at the Le Mans 24 in two weeks time.

2014 British GT GT4 champions Andrew Jarman and Devon Modell are due to drive that sveltely liveried blue and grey at not just Le Mans but also at the remaining rounds of the GT3 Le Mans Cup.

Back in their normal #34 car Yoluc managed an incredible third overall in FP1 by himself with the duo coming back together in FP2 where they also managed to finish in P3 overall, each time beaten by the mightily fast AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3.

Speaking with team boss Tom Ferrier at the British GT at Pulton Park last weekend, he believed that despite impressive free practice times the #34 would again be hampered in top end performance against that of their rivals like they were last time out at Spa.

Qualifying for Race 1 starts at 11.05Hrs local ready for the 70minute race itself which starts at  16.15Hrs local before they do it all again on Sunday with Race 2.
