Miedecke Stone chasing their dream on The Mountain

Saturday, February 04, 2017

All Australian team, Miedecke Stone Motorsport will arrive at the Mountain Panaroma circuit this morning with a strong belief that they can claim at least a class podium todays Liqui-Moly 12 hours of Bathurst following yesterday's strong qualifying performance.

With the #35 Group A, Am Class Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 being very racey all week, a determined qualifying run from Ashley Walsh quickly positioned the car within the top 10 early on in the first (all class) qualifying run before they then bettering that position to finish P8 in the Class A only second session. That earned the car the chance to punch beyond their Am class weight in the top 10 shoot out amongst the Pro/Pro teams with Walsh behind the wheel.

Porsche driver Walsh pulled what he described as "his best performance on track ever" to virtually match his previous Q2 time to place the orange/white/black Vantage on the second row of the grid in fourth position - a stellar performance indeed.

Miedecke Stone have already tasted the spoils of success when they convincingly won the Sydney Motorsport Park 101 round of the Australian Endurance Championship back in August so if the trio of George Miedecke, Ashley Walsh and Tony Bates can keep the #35 out of the wall and run consistent lap times then who know…………………….!!

We wish them well.
