European GT4 Southern Cup's Grande Finale at Paul Ricard
Monday, October 09, 2017
The FFSA supported European GT4 Southern Cup Series will be one of the latest series to round off their 2017 season as they host their own 'Grande finale' down at the Paul Ricard circuit in southern France this weekend.
As expected, both full season Aston Martin entries from Street Art Racing and Generation AMR SuperRacing will be their with both of their beautifully liveried V8 Vantage GT4's as each look to see out their year on a high within the highly competitive Pro-Am class.
In the Belgium SAR entered #117 car will again be Eric Cayrolle and Arno Santamato whilst James Holder and Matt George again share the Appleby Engineering prepared #44 car.
For George and Holder, a private test at the circuit last weekend should at least allow them a 'quick get away' as they look to capitalise on their present P8 position in the overall European GT4 Series Team's Championship (a table for teams who have entered races within both the Northern and Southern Cups) - a position that could easily be improved upon with two decent finishes this weekend.
This weekend will also definitely not be the last for the UK team with an Aston Martin in Europe as, if reports are to believed, they will come out of this winter's closed season with an exciting new GT4 project. (UPDATED!)
As usual, both of this weekend's races can be viewed live HERE
