Beechdean AMR back in Europe
Friday, March 01, 2019
Its great to see that a blue and white liveried car of Beechdean AMR will again be pounding the circuits of Europe in the hunt for an overall European victory and a run out at Le Mans to boot.
Having ran in the European Le Mans Series during 2016/17 with his 2016 specification V8 Vantage GTE - winning the GTE Class at their first attempt in 2016, tonight sees team principle Andrew Howard end his temporal sabbatical from an ACO rules series to confirm his return to European racing with his old (young) race colleague again by his side in his new 2019 specification V8 Vantage GT3.
Presumably slimming costs to be able to run a parallel race programme for 2019 with his already confirmed British GT Championship entry with Aston Martin Racing works driver Marco Sorensen, sees Howard enter the 'cheaper' but no less competitive Michelin Le Mans Cup Championship with AMR factory reserve driver Ross Gunn again adorning the blue and white race suit.
With a collective test at Paul Ricard in early April, the Championship will feature a six round season starting at Paul Ricard the weekend after the Collective pre season test, include the all important round at the Le Mans 24Hr in June before culminating in Portimao at the end of October hopefully being the GT3 class victor!
