Its all going on at the moment - Part 1

Wednesday, March 06, 2019

With just under a week to go before the official test and first round of the 2019 China GT Championship from the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, a few more details are starting to sneak out from the two entered Aston Martin Racing customer teams.

Former Championship winning team, Kings Racing have shown off the livery for one of their 2016 specification AMR V8 Vantage GT4's that they will be entering into the Championship for the first time this year for an as yet undeclared driver line up.

If there is something that we have learned over the relatively short lifespan of this GT Championship is that they like a good colourful livery an this one certainly continues that line.

Then there is reigning GT4 Champions in Asia Sonic Racing - a change from last years title of China Equity AMR BSEM after the China Equity brand removed their association with the team leaving the Beijing based entertainment management company in sole charge of the team under the guidance of Stanley Yang.

They are due to be running two brand new 2019 specification V8 Vantage GT4's in this years Championship - one has already been flown out ready for drivers Yves Volte and David Pun to test and race in next week at the Asia GT Festival event but due to available timescale for the team this car may not be liveried up in time for the first two races of round one. Their expected race suits give away an inkling of what could be expected in the livery department though.

We also still await confirmation of the identity of the other two drivers and also if the second chassis will make it out to the team from the UK in time.

Don't forget that this is the team that AMR reserve driver Ross Gunn raced with to help take Yang to P3 in the GT4 class back in the 2017 season before Jack Mitchell secured the sole title for the team last season in their Prodrive supported cars he shared with two drivers - including Yang.
