Bullitt Racing ready for the start of their new Aston Martin powered season in Le Mans Cup

A comprehensive test programme that began at Circuit Paul Ricard late last year before moving on to Portimao, Barcelona and the Spa-Francorchamps has seen Bullitt Racing more than get to grips with its new Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

The Spanish-based squad, therefore, returns to Paul Ricard this week for the opening round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup in a confident frame of mind, with race drivers Stephen Patrick and Théo Nouet.

Théo has enjoyed plenty of laps in testing both with Bullitt Racing and with other AMR teams and ran extremely competitively in the GT World Challenge Europe season-opener at Imola. He is naturally looking forward to showing his undoubted pace this weekend in France.

“I’m very happy to compete with Bullitt Racing in their first year with Aston Martin,” Théo said. “It’s a brand new challenge for me and I’m pleased that they are so comfortable in placing their trust in a young racer like me.

“I’m looking forward to working with Stephen and helping him progress further in the new car. The team takes the programme very seriously with dedicated and competent people and I have no doubt that this year we will be able to show ourselves among the serious competitors. It’s also fantastic to start the championship being at home in France and I’m really looking forward to it!”

Team Manager Steffan Pattrick leads the team, while his father Stephen is in the hot seat alongside Théo. As an Am-friendly series, Stephen will be charged with the qualifying and starting duties in Saturday’s Le Mans Cup two-hour race.

“The car has been very competitive all through testing,” explained Steffan. “We know roughly what our rivals are doing in terms of lap time and we believe, with our driver line-up, we will be in contention for podiums all year long. Of course, there are always hurdles to overcome, but even if it rained at Paul Ricard – unlikely I know - I would feel pretty confident in the package that we have.”

Wednesday is given over to testing, with the first official practice session on Friday. Qualifying takes place Saturday at 12:10, with the green flag for the race at 16:40hrs local.
