D'Station Racing back in action as the GT World Challenge Asia (Japan Cup) competes at Fuji this weekend

Having waited for what seemed to be a lifetime between rounds has the GT World Challenge Asia Series come back in quick succession this weekend with their third round of the season and the second round of the Japan Cup from the Fuji International Speedway.
For the Fuji International Speedway based D’Station Racing team, their opening round of their 2022 GTWCAsia Series at Suzuka last weekend ended painfully after a promising start when their #47 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 failed to finish in the closing stages to Sundays second race after a heavy impact with another car whilst in fourth place overall.
Having had their domestic GT3 racing programme severely affected by their 2022 World Endurance Championship commitments, Suzuka was the first time that drivers Satoshi Hoshino and Tomonobu Fujii had raced in Japan this year but with the WEC’s six hours of Fuji coming up next in early September, this race will serve as a dual process for the drivers and team going into weekend.
Rear end damage to their #47 appeared considerable but with the team based so close to the circuit and with at least three AMR Vantage GT3 chassis available to them – repair or replacement should not be a problem to them.
Like last weekend, the two-race format will see the first driver Qualifying and start race one with the other doing likewise for race two of the weekend.
This weekend’s entry list shows a twenty-five car grid with eight GT4/INV cars included amongst the bigger GT3 cars.
