All to play for in the GT3 Class as Bullitt Racing heads to Spa Francorchamps in the Le Mans Cup
Sunday, September 18, 2022
This weekend’s event will be the first for the series outside of France and Italy after previous rounds at Le Castellet, Imola, Le Mans and most recently for them at Monza right back at the start of July where the #99 Bullitt car of Stephen Pattrick and Valentin Hasse-Clot secured another P3 podium finish after a post-race disqualification for another competitor moved the black and red liveried AMR Vantage GT3 crew up from their fourth-place finish on track.
With their own series due to finish in Portimao next month as well as the ELMS, the #99 crew presently sits in third within the GT3 Drivers Champiosnhip for Pattrick (with Hasse-Clot having co shared the driving duties so far with Theo Nouet) but just seventeen points behind the leading crew that includes former AMR WEC GTE Am Champion Kristian Poulson.
Two races remain together with twenty-five points for the class win and another point for class pole position per race up for grabs so still a championship very much in contention for the English gentleman driver Pattrick with both Hasse-Clot (and latterly Nouet at Portimao) helping to ensure that the #99 comes home as high as possible by the end in their AMR debut year.
“I can’t wait to get back with the team after the long summer break. Monza was bittersweet as we loved the venue, but we had a tough race. This gives us even more motivation for Spa. We must finish ahead of our main competitor to keep our title chances alive. This leaves room for only one strategy and Spa will be a turning point in our championship fight!” said the Frenchman.
Track action also starts for this mixed LMP3 / GTE class grid on Friday with Free Practice, ahead of Qualifying and race on Saturday.
